![]() Taking Wi-Fi out of the equation though, the 3GS is consistently faster, whether you’re switching between apps, or simply opening up the settings page. This turned out to be the case, since when I tried the same test an hour later the 3GS once again spanked the 3G, and running the speed test again turned in a download speed of over 600kbps. So clearly the problem was to do with Wi-Fi rather than the speed of page rendering.Ī bit of digging around the Internet showed that I’m not the only one who’s had Wi-Fi issues with the 3GS, with most reports indicating unreliable or intermittent performance. This had me very confused until I ran a data speed test and found that while my iPhone 3G was managing around 700kbps on the office Wi-Fi connection, the 3GS was reporting download speeds of between 19 and 40kbps. Today I tried exactly the same page load test and the 3GS was far, far slower than the 3G. Today things played out very differently indeed. Well, that’s what happened when I ran that test yesterday. The 3GS simply blew the 3G away in terms of speed, with the page rendered in less than half the time. Connecting the 3GS and my iPhone 3G up to the TrustedReviews Wi-Fi network, I then opened on both handsets simultaneously. In fact, in this respect the 3GS really does live up to Apple’s claims of it being twice as fast as the 3G. Mobile Safari has always been one of the iPhone’s trump cards, but the 3GS takes it to a new level of usability, rendering graphics heavy web pages in the blink of an eye. There’s no doubt that the 3GS renders graphics far, far faster than the 3G, whether that be on a web page or even in the phone’s own user interface. My guess would be that the new graphics chip plays the biggest role in the 3GS’ ode to speed. In practice though, I can assure you that Apple is not exaggerating – the 3GS is significantly quicker than the 3G in pretty much every area. The result – according to Apple at least – is that the 3GS is up to twice as fast as the 3G, which is a pretty bold claim. But one of the key changes isn’t a new feature, it’s the 3GS’ ability to do exactly what the old iPhone can do, just faster.Īpple is still pretty cagey when it comes to the exact hardware specification in the iPhone, but the 3GS has seen an increase in speed for the main processor, along with a new graphics chip, while there’s also more memory on tap. On the surface, the iPhone 3GS doesn’t look much different to the older 3G, especially if the latter is running the latest 3.0 version of the firmware (more about that later). For now though, let’s see what new features the iPhone 3GS brings to the party. Whether there’s enough of an improvement over the 3G to make it a worthwhile upgrade for existing iPhone users is a different matter though, and one that I’ll look at in more detail later in this review. Although I wouldn’t necessarily call the iPhone 3GS the third generation device, there are enough tweaks and improvements over the iPhone 3G to make it appeal to some of the naysayers. However, if a list of features is really that important to you and you can’t see beyond it, the new 3GS may offer just enough to convince you of the iPhone’s merit. Did I ever wish that I could whip my iPhone out of my pocket and video some mundane occurrence in the hope that I might get it shown on BBC News? Absolutely, positively never! ![]() Did I ever wish that I could wirelessly stream music to a pair of Bluetooth headphones? Nope – I’d far rather plug my Shure E500s in and make the most of my music. ![]() Apple addressed some of these issues with the iPhone 3G that launched last year, adding (unsurprisingly) 3G data support along with GPS functionality.īut, even the iPhone 3G was open to very vocal criticism – no MMS, no copy and paste, no video recording, no A2DP Bluetooth support… The whinging went on, and once again everyone at TrustedReviews was accused of being biased towards Apple, when in reality we believed, and still do believe, that the user experience afforded by the iPhone far outweighed its lack of certain features.ĭid I ever sit there with my head in my hands lamenting the lack of copy and paste on my iPhone? No, not really. Put simply, the original iPhone changed the face of mobile devices, and proved without a doubt that a great user interface is far more important than a long feature list.įor years iPhone haters have always been keen to point out all the features that are missing from the device and how their Windows Mobile/Nokia/other handset is better because it supports a host of features that the iPhone doesn’t. No matter what I write in this review, there are people out there who will instantly accuse me and the TR team in general of being Apple fan boys, so I may as well throw the cat among the pigeons straight away. ![]() Articular cartilage reduces pressure and acts as a shock absorber during movement of the shoulder bones.Įxtra stability to the glenohumeral joint is provided by the glenoid labrum, a ring of fibrous cartilage that surrounds the glenoid cavity. The ends of all articulating bones are covered by smooth tissue called articular cartilage which allows the bones to slide over each other without friction enabling smooth movement. ![]() The clavicle also forms a protective covering for important nerves and blood vessels that pass under it from the spine to the arms. It forms two joints: the acromioclavicular joint, where it articulates with the acromion process of the scapula, and the sternoclavicular joint where it articulates with the sternum or breast bone. The clavicle bone or collarbone is an S-shaped bone that connects the scapula to the sternum or breastbone. The Acromion and coracoid processes serve as places for attachment of the ligaments and tendons. The scapula has four bony processes - acromion, spine, coracoid and glenoid cavity. It serves as the site of attachment for most of the muscles that provide movement and stability to the joint. The scapula is a flat triangular shaped bone that forms the shoulder blade. The two bones together form the glenohumeral joint, which is the main joint of the shoulder. An irregular shallow cavity in the scapula called the glenoid cavity forms the socket for the head of the humerus to fit in. The end of the humerus or upper arm bone forms the ball of the shoulder joint. The shoulder is a ball and socket joint made up of three bones, namely the humerus, scapula, and clavicle. Basketballs that trigger the mini-game have a scripted zone that activates and spawns a basketball when CJ walks into the radius of this zone. Technically speaking, the culprit of this glitch is the save pick-up that is just in the proximity of the mansion's basketball court. However, some versions of the game (such as mobile ports) that support auto-saves may still inadvertently encounter this bug. This glitch can be fixed using external tools. This doesn't appear to happen all the time (and may not be an issue with the PS2 version), but it is not recommended to save at this safehouse (the nearby located Mulholland Safehouse is a good alternative). Saving at Madd Dogg's Mansion can cause a glitch rendering all the basketball courts in the game inoperable. This also happens to the Garver Bridge and the Montgomery Intersection before the mission Yay Ka-Boom-Boom is completed. It is unknown what kind of in-game factor causes this. If Carl reaches the bridge that connects Los Santos and the Flint Intersection, he will have a chance to see that some vehicles will pass through the blocking barricades that cannot be driven through normally and go on to Flint County. If the player shoots the Ammu-Nation clerk in the head with a sniper rifle, the clerk will open fire briefly on the player before he drops dead, but his head will still be attached to his body.īefore San Fierro, Whetstone and Flint County are unlocked for the first time to the player, there is a glitch. When the player encounters the said Ambulance, its emergency light can still be seen lighting on. Sometimes, if the player has killed a lot of pedestrians and they run away from the corpses, there is a chance that an Ambulance will still appear near the corpses, but when the player gets close or checks out the vehicle via a sniper scope, there will be no paramedics coming out of it. ![]() First, they have to go up to the left sliding gate, punch it, and then they need to turn away quickly, and it should slide open. The next step is to think about further expansion of service down the line. The SFMTA also wants to prioritize service to Chinatown during the Lunar New Year. The plan moving forward is to focus on essential services like hospitals, groceries, diverse workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods specially marked by the Muni Service Equity Strategy. In the meantime, the agency says it fully recognizes that there have been gaps in service. But for much of the past two years, the number of people using Muni has been a fraction of that, and has really only bounced back by about half. Pre-pandemic, Muni served about 700,000 weekday riders. The SFMTA last year proposed several possible options for how to restart bus and light-rail service, promising to restore most if not all lines by this spring. And this weekend marks the return of Sunday night service until midnight, and the return of continuous J-Church service to Embarcadero. After two years of mostly abbreviated service, SF Muni lines are nearly all back and up and running at near pre-pandemic levels. ![]() I'd expect them to slow down in the least or stagger, generally making it easier to hit the next shot to finish them off. It was very jarring to see the enemies continue frolicking around even after clipping them a few times. If they were shot and it wasn't a clean one shot kill, they continued along their merry way as if they didn't just have a bullet ripping through their flesh. While playing on Normal, the deer were almost invincible. I thought that the game concept was so perfectly simple that it would be difficult to make the game unenjoyable. Deer Drive is a poorly constructed hunting game for a multitude of reasons. That being said, I have never ever been so disappointed when raining death upon my enemies. Because to be honest, every so often after a long day of work you want nothing more than to hurt something in order to vent. Heck, that's the kind of game I can totally get behind. ![]() So whatever! Let players have fun shooting frolicking deer in grassy meadows. And while I don't agree with trophy hunting for real, this is not real. The game actually makes a point of telling you when you've shot a particularly nice trophy buck. Pun intended.ĭeer Drive isn't about hunting for food, but rather about trophy hunting, it seems. I myself once had an excellent venison stew and by golly, I'd 'kill' for another. You hunt, you kill, you cook, and you eat. As a matter of fact, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Just for starters, I think it's fair to get the following out of the way: I am not against game hunting. |
